This screen is used to create and edit donor details.
Note that a donor Display Name is constructed, as details are entered, from first and last name fields.
Use the switch to change the donor to inactive. Deactivate a donor if you do not want them to appear in donor drop-down lists.
Select the donor type.
- Gift Aid - Gift Aid may be claimed on donations from this donor
- Non-Gift Aid - Gift Aid is not claimed on donations form the donor
- Corporate - The donor is a corporate entity
Address and Contact Details
The address details on the donor contact details tab will be the address that will used for gift aid claim and other communication purposes.
Mandatory fields when the donor is a Gift Aid or Non-Gift Aid donor are: -
- First Name
- Last Name
- Address Line 1
- Post Code
Until data is entered in these fields that are highlighted in red.
If the donor is a corporate donor only the Display name is mandatory.
Share Documents As
For cases when documents are emailed to this donor, select the method by which the recipient retrieves the document.
Either as an attachment to the email or as a link to the document.
Date Taxpayer Status Confirmed
A date from which the donor is treated as a taxpayer for gift aid purposes. Only available if the donor is a Gift Aid donor. This date may be backdated to claim for donations made prior to confirmation of taxpayer status in line with HMRC guidelines (up to 4 years as at Dec 2019).
The default format for the date is: d/m/yyyy e.g. 25/1/2007.
Date Taxpayer Status Ended
A date from which the donor is treated as a non - taxpayer and gift aid will not be claimed on any future donations. Only available if the donor is a Gift Aid donor.
The default format for the date is: d/m/yyyy e.g. 25/1/2007
When ticked indicates that the donor is a member or subscriber.
Membership Start Date
Allows recording of a start date of membership / subscription for administrative purposes.
Membership End Date
Allows recording of an end date of membership / subscription for administrative purposes.
Allows recording information relating to membership / subscription for administrative purposes.
