Unit Cost Update
This screen is used to amend stock item unit costs, for instance when standard costs are amended. The list can be filtered by stock type.
Enter the new unit cost in the Revised Unit Cost column. On Submitting; a value adjustment is posted to the Stock value Adjustment Account based upon the current physical stock quantity.
- Increase if +ve (Debit) or Decrease if -ve(credit) the stock account
- Increase (Credit) or Decrease (Debit) the Stock Value Adjustment Accounts (In P&L)
Note that if the standard cost of a WIP or Finished Goods Manufactured stock item, for which a BOM (bill of Material) exists, is amended in this screen the stock value on the stock account is changed but the BOM is NOT re-costed. If a works order is run before the BOM is re-costed any difference between the new standard cost and the old BOM cost is posted to the Stock Rounding Account.
