Transactions by VAT Code Report

The Transactions by VAT Code report for Current and Historic modes tracks how transactions have been coded and allows inspection to ensure that the correct VAT accounting has been reported on VAT100 returns consistently with the Entity's VAT Scheme at the time of filing a particular return.

You may encounter a situation where you need to enter items after the last VAT 100 report was accepted but with a tax point date prior to the end date of the last VAT period (e.g. you receive an invoice late).

In this situation the items will appear in the report even if the tax point date is prior to the beginning of the user selected date window for the report. This will make it easier to reconcile the report to the VAT 100 figures for the current period. After the current VAT period is closed by accepting the VAT 100 report the late item will only appear in the report appropriate to its tax point date. You can always save a copy of this report with the late transaction before accepting the VAT 100.

Report Mode

In Current Mode the report will report all VAT relevant transactions up to the specified date that have not yet been included in a VAT return .

In Historic Mode the report will report all VAT relevant transactions that were included in the selected VAT return.

The All Trading Up To option, which will require the user to enter a valid VAT period end date, is a report that will display all VAT relevant transactions from commencing using the system up to and including the selected date. In effect a history of all entries to the VAT control Account, not necessarily what has been reported on VAT100 returns if the entity is using the cash scheme.

Date Range

You can specify a date range for the transaction. Dates can either be entered manually or selected from the pop-up calendar. Dates must be entered in the format DD/MM/YYYY, for example, 01/01/2018.

When entering dates manually, a date guessing routine speeds up the input by taking the user input and assuming the missing month and or year based on the current date as the user leaves the field i.e. the date today is 30th October 2018
