Migration to the Investment Ledger of previously recorded investments

Prior to the implementation of the Investment Ledger, users could use the Fixed Asset Ledger to set up an investment asset; although designed primarily to be used for property investments it has been used by some users to hold other forms of investment. Equally other types of investments have been recorded to Long-Term Investments and Short-Term Investments account types. Follow the link for a document describing the Migration Process.

To avoid confusion and facilitate year end reporting we plan to withdraw the Investment category of Tangible Fixed Assets and require all investments and investment related transactions to be processed through the Investment Ledger functionality.
