Sites, Departments and Activities
The system offers income and expenditure transaction reporting across the three analysis areas. Users may choose to use none or up to all three.
Clearly using all three requires a small amount of additional work as transactions are entered, but then offers very powerful and extensive reporting and analytical opportunity.

This is in addition, of course, to the chart of accounts structure and in the case of Not-for-Profit organisations the mandatory Fund analysis.

Use of these analytical areas is activated from the Organisation Profile menu.

Sites
Sites are used where the organisation operates over multiple physical locations and require payroll costs managed over those sites. Quotes and Invoicing (and where being used Stock) can also be addressed from multiple sites and stock managed.
Departments
The notion of a Department can refer to functions within an organisation, areas or any organisational feature of the entity that the users require to analyse. Note the system uses the general term Department, but users may configure an alias if preferred. A profit and loss report can be prepared for each of the departments as well as the total organisation. Departments do not appear in the chart of accounts; the system just remembers to which department a particular transaction has been analysed.
Larger Not-for_Profit organisation that report under the Income and Expenditure method could use Departments for analysing support costs.
Activities
The notion of a Activity can refer to any organisational feature of the entity; such as projects or Charitable activity for Not-for-Profit organisations,that the users require to analyse. Note the system uses the general term Activity, but users may configure an alias if preferred. A profit and loss report can be prepared for each of the activities as well as the total organisation. Activities do not appear in the chart of accounts; the system just remembers to which activity a particular transaction has been analysed.
